The CFTRI school was established in the year 1964 with a purpose to provide education to the children of employees of the institute. The school was started in small way and now it is open for the general public and follows the theme "Sarvashikshana Abhiyana" meaning 'Education for all' and has been able to reach the zenith of progress and achievement in the all-round development of the students.
The school is located within the scenic beauty of the CFTRI campus which is about 3 km away from the heart of the heritage city of Mysuru, free from the noise and din. The site is a paragon of blissful serenity and has an inspiring ambience. CFTRI school follows the Karnataka state syllabus. The school celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 1990. Having a history of development and experience, the school aims to provide quality education and an over-all development to all its students. It is a co-ed, English medium school and the school's motto is "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER".
About the school
CFTRI School, Mysuru was founded by Mrs. Carolyn Parpia in 1964. It made a very humble beginning with a limited number of students, staff and infrastructural facilities.
The objective of establishing the school was to impart quality education to the children of the staff of CFTRI. With the blessings of almighty and the constant effort of
the management, the school expanded in a phenomenal manner. The school has the unique distinction of securing 98 to 100% results with many students securing 100/100 in most
of the subjects in X standard public examination becoming district toppers too.
1.Kindergarten classes:
The children are taught spoken and written English, Kannada, Hindi and numerals. Talents in the field of Art, craft, singing, dancing and dramatics are developed.
The foundation of good handwriting is laid here. The child is exposed to the experience of interacting in a peer group.
2.Primary and Secondary level:
These sections help the children in the all round development of their personality. Equal stress is laid on academics as well as human values. In the class room,
the child is encouraged to comprehend and apply rather than memorize. Thus children enjoy learning, develop regular study habits paving the way for their overall
development.
3.Co-curricular activities:
Besides academics students have facilities for adequate exposure to different extra-curricular activities like cultural, literary, sports and game, scout and guide,
cubs and bulbul etc. The school offers ample opportunities for students to develop a sound body which is essential for a sound mind. Various sports, debates, science
projects, karate, essay writing competition, poem recitation etc., are conducted periodically. All National festivals are conducted in a grand manner to inculcate
the spirit of patriotism among the children.
