In connection with Golden Jubilee functions 2014 - 15, Traditional and Nutritious Food Exhibition was organized for III standard students on 17-December-2014. Nearly 100 students class III took part in te exhibition.
The exbition was aimed at giving an awareness to the children about our delicious, Hygienic,
traditional food system and its nutritive values. It also aimed at showing how our modern life style has inclined towards bakery, pastry, and instant food items which are less hygienic nad nutritive and cause health problems like obesity.
The Inauguration function of Golden Jubilee was celebrated on November 1st along with grand celebration of Kannada Rajyothsava
Students were entrolled by this idea and came up with a variety of food items which were really nouth-watering.
Smt. Saraswathi Bai B, Principal, EC and MC Members of CFTRI Educational Society, and other Staff members joined children in their enjoyment.
Dr Anu Appaiah, Organizing Secretary of Golden Jubilee Committee, Dr Jayadeep, Sri Manjunatha N, Dr Muthukumar, Sri Ravishnkar greeted the children. Children were asked to brief about the food items they had brought, names of the food items, some of the ingradients used, nutritive value etc for which the children actively responded.
Some of the food item sdisplayed were Ragi balls, Salds, Payasam, Obbittu, Ragi Roti, Ragi Halubai, Halva, Thill Chutney, Vegitable bath and salad, Rave Unde, Chakli, Kodubale, Vada, Kosumbari etc..
All students in the school visited the exhibition and also tasted and enjoyed the traditional food.
